Panmure Liberum Appoints Michael Finney as Head of Sales

Michael brings over 30 years’ experience to lead and strengthen the Sales team, which will benefit from his strong relationships across UK and European institutions, as well as corporates. He joins Panmure Liberum from Mediobanca, where he spent four years on the European Equity Sales desk. Prior to this he was the CEO and co-founder of High Ground Investment Management, a hedge fund founded by former TCI partner, Edgar Allen. He has also spent time at RBC, where he was formally Head of Mid Cap Sales and Corporate Access, and started his career in Equity Research at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson and DLJ.

Michael’s appointment positions Panmure Liberum’s Sales team to continue to grow its market share across the asset classes that matter to clients. Working closely with the Execution desk, Investment Banking and Research teams, Michael will help bring further structure and ambition to Panmure Liberum’s growth trajectory. 

The appointment follows a number of strategic announcements including innovative partnership structures to enhance capabilities in Australia, South Africa and the Gulf as well as multiple high profile client wins, demonstrating strong momentum across the business 18 months post-merger.
